so what is the sound of progressive disco? well it captures the insane rhythm and the unforgiving driving beat that is instantly found in the funk of the early seventies but real disco music also had a formula that would guarantee the hottest djs success if played at the right time. that formula was a blend of up-tempo rhythm sections laden with south american percussion mixed with soulful vocals and orchestral strings - a symphony of sex, lust and love. we change the formula and focus on the rock, electronic and dub elements - slower, sleazy and fun.

a1 fur elodie is a cheapy guitar tune combined with the piano to form acoustic sound. other elements are also quite cheapy but sounds very good altogether as a confortable track. a very atmospheric tune to hypnotize people into fumiyas deeper side. the original version is on his album unknown 3 released in 2008. b1 ring bell is a track combined an acoustic loopy drum with a modular bass sound to form a kind of rare groove. a kind of chant starts coming in out at certain points to take you somewhere you have never been before. b2 dealer trick (short version) has got a kind of old school flavour and sounds quite like 90s house with fumiyas dirty, cheeky, and loopy groove. a trick for jack in the box

aaah lovely dovely, its that time of year again, the city is covered in snow, chestnuts are a roastin and wee little elves are working away busily pressing the annual home sweet home compilation for your listening and dancing pleasure. yep, its nearly that time of year again, the famed hsh new years rave at the arena/treptow in berlin is just around ye corner. yay! this year we have invited some dj and producer friends from berlin that are playing at the party to contribute to the compilation too! the lovely frenchmen shonky who has played at a few of our shindigs since moving to berlin and is known for his funky techno style has even named his track on a1 >madame moustache<, how very sweet ! snapping at his heels on b2 is our good friend from way up north (maybe he knows santa) and also a berlin resident agaric with his kicking track >after it all< which we are very pleased about. the flipside features some of our homies jens bond and tigerskin with a furious track on b1 followed by nico stojan our little bar 25 flirt with a nice melodic house track on a2 to round things off nicely.

with his debut release on highgrade, >never end<, artist and producer andri has already proven his sense for captivating rhythms and driving beats. it is no accident that the swiss producer spent his childhood swinging the drumsticks and is now bringing his enthusiasm for those beats to the dancefloor. andri is known well beyond the borders of his native switzerland for his energetic and sweaty live performances, which always include new tracks for the floor. with his live sets he aims to encourage more than just wiggling movement – he tries to incite the party freak, to inspire a >technoid mind state< where people want to dance like crazy, all night long! as he says himself: >the people on the dancefloor should be able to experience the story of my sets and completely forget themselves.< but andri is not attempting to be a hyper intellectual sound director, and while his sets and tracks are carefully composed, they also retain a sense of humour. this is the case with his new highgrade release: >up lantis<. the three tracks - >up lantis<, >come to me< and >mr. groove< skillfully play with original samples, crackling beats and sexy basslines. they develop a very unique field of tension, punctuated with a lot of fun filled andri trademarks: this is the dictation of groove

french producer and dj kane roth has released her seductive techno sounds on labels such as canadas archipel, londons multi vitamins, belgiums lessizmore and germanys smallroom music. as the featured artist on klectiks eighth vinyl release, she has taken her stunning productions and the labels catalogue to a new level of sophistication. her emotive new e.p., >my floating garden<, features three hypnotic originals. the release also features a fantastic grooving remix from one of detroits finest, dub techno mastermind luke hess.

the debut release by molly wagger is the single >weekend<. the original mixes a forlorn and melancholy vocal with an uplifting major 7th piano driven backing. to complete the release we also include the live favourite >molly<, an ode to one of the band members cat. all elements are tinged with a grey-skied but undeniably optimistic scottish pulse which makes it all the more an interesting listening experience.
richard norris in his time and space machine guise take things into 12 inch territory with his remix on the flip side. we gave him the balearic brief and true to form that is exactly what he has delivered, a touch of granite and dark edinburgh afternoons mixed with some ibizan post sunset haze.
